Press Release: ION Earth Install in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas — September 12, 2020 — Billy Jackson and Clara Cage Receive Premium Solar System Donated By ION Solar Through The ION Earth Program.

ION Solar and Austin Habitat for Humanity have joined together through the ION Earth Program to provide a free premium solar system for Billy Jackson and Clara Cage. Their solar system will create a safe, stable and sustainable home for their enjoyment. The new solar system will reduce their carbon footprint, fight climate change, lower monthly bills, and increase the equity of their home.

The Habitat for Humanity house was Billy Jackson’s boyhood home in 1972. In 1976, Mr. Jackson left to serve in the Army until 1983. In 2006, Ms. Cage and Mr. Jackson moved back into the house and began the process of making the repairs they were able to handle financially.

Habitat for Humanity’s original project involved remodeling a small main bathroom, creating new plumbing for a walk-in shower, relocating a plumbing fixture, and blowing insulation in the attic to assist in the energy efficiency of the home. The couple was very grateful to receive assistance through the Austin Habitat for Humanity repair program.

ION Solar’s custom, premium solar system will be installed on Mr. Jackson and Ms. Cage’s home on Saturday September 12, 2020. ION Solar employees will dedicate their time, expertise and equipment to make the installation possible. The new solar system will create a completely sustainable and energy efficient home.
