Why switch to Solar in NV?
Tons of sunshine, tax incentives, local rebate programs & more
In addition to the federal 30% tax credit, Nevada also offers incentives for solar batteries and requires power companies to buy back your excess energy. Some utility companies even offer local solar rebates.
Up to 30% in federal tax credits
Depending on your situation, you may qualify for the The Solar Investment Tax Credit, which can reduce the cost of your system by up to 30%.
Up to $3,000 in Energy Storage Incentives
Nevada offers energy storage incentives for solar batteries, which can be used to store excess power or as back-up power during an outage.
Use what you generate, save or sell what you don’t
With mandated net metering & renewable energy credits, you have multiple methods for selling your excess power to the local utility companies.
Pay the same amount every month
No more fluctuating power bills. By switching to solar, you’ll pay the same amount every month for the length of your loan.
Get free energy once your system is paid off
After paying off your loan, any power you generate is free (average US payback time is 5-15 years, which means decades of free power!).
No upfront or out-of-pocket cost to switch
ION offers you some of the best financing options available in the solar industry. Our goal is to reduce your current monthly power bill while allowing you to pay off your power completely.

Solar panels are made of special cells (PV or photovoltaic cells) that absorb sunlight and produce an electrical current.
In order for your home to use that electrical current (known as DC or Direct Current), it must be converted into AC (or Alternating Current), which is done through micro inverters that are attached to each solar panel.
Once the energy has been converted, it runs through your electrical panel, gets distributed within your home, and can be used to power your appliances, lights, and more.
The following solar tax credits and incentives are available in Nevada. To find out if you’re eligible, we recommend contacting our team for more information and speaking with a tax professional who can help.
The Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is a federal tax credit for those who purchase solar energy systems for residential, commercial or utility scale properties. Through this legislation, all solar systems installed between 2022 and 2023 are eligible for a federal tax credit. If you qualify, you could reduce the cost of your system by up to 30% (Source: Energy.gov).
Applies to customers who plan to install solar-integrated energy storage units from 4 kW up to 100 kW capacity and either already have or will install a renewable energy system, like rooftop solar.
There are two incentive levels categorized on two different rates described below:
Time-of-Use (TOU) Rate: A rate plan that lets customers who are willing to use less electricity during peak demand periods save money by shifting their usage to times with lower rates. Customers that are on a TOU rate plan receive a higher energy storage incentive amount.
Non-Time of Use (TOU) Rate: A rate plan in which rates are at a flat rate despite the time of day, season, and day type.
The incentive rate is $0.19 per watt-hour (Wh) for customers on a TOU rate and $0.095 per watt-hour (Wh) for customers that are not on a TOU rate. The incentive payment is capped at $3,000 per premise for customers on a TOU rate and $1,500 per premise for customers that are not on a TOU rate, or 50% of the Equipment Cost, whichever is less.
In Nevada, utility companies are required to pay you (typically in the form of bill credits) at 75% the retail rate for excess energy your system produces throughout the year.
Under the PEC (Portfolio Energy Credit) Trading Program, renewable energy producers (like homeowners with solar systems) can earn and sell PECs to electric utilities that are required to meet Nevada's Renewable Portfolio Standard. One PEC represents one kilowatt-hour of renewable energy generated or one kilowatt-hour of energy saved. PEC’s are typically “sold” in exchange for bill credits.
